Has God been blessing your life lately? Learn why humility matters, how to stay grounded during success, and what the Bible says about remaining humble after blessings.
There Is Nothing Wrong With Being Happy About Your Blessings
One thing about me is this:
When God blesses me…
👉 I am grateful.
I truly thank Him for every door He opens, every opportunity, every blessing, and every way He makes for me.
And yes…
Sometimes I will share my excitement with a few people I know genuinely care about me and will truly be happy for me.
Because the truth is:
👉 Not everybody will celebrate your blessings.
Some people will:
- Tear it down
- Speak negatively about it
- Downplay what God is doing in your life
And honestly…
That’s why you have to be careful who you share things with.
But one thing I always want to remember is this:
👉 No matter how much God blesses me, I never want blessings to change my heart.
God Wants Us Grateful — Not Prideful
There is nothing wrong with:
- Being excited
- Feeling thankful
- Celebrating blessings
God wants us to enjoy what He blesses us with.
But there is a difference between:
✔ Gratitude
❌ Pride
Because pride says:
👉 “Look what I did.”
Humility says:
👉 “Look what God did.”
And that difference matters.
Some People Change When They Get Blessed
This is something we see often.
Some people:
- Become arrogant
- Start looking down on others
- Forget where they came from
- Act like they no longer need God
And honestly…
That is dangerous spiritually.
Because blessings should never make us:
👉 Bigger than God.
If anything…
Blessings should make us even more thankful and humble.
What Does It Mean to Stay Humble?
Staying humble means:
- Remaining thankful
- Staying grounded
- Not thinking you are above others
- Continuing to depend on God
It means understanding:
👉 Everything you have comes from Him.
Your:
- Strength
- Opportunities
- Favor
- Open doors
- Success
All came because God allowed it.
What the Bible Says About Humility
📖 James 4:10 (KJV)
“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”
This scripture is powerful.
Because God honors humility.
Not pride.
📖 Proverbs 11:2 (KJV)
“When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.”
Pride can destroy what humility protects.
That’s why we must guard our hearts carefully when blessings come.
📖 1 Peter 5:6 (KJV)
“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God…”
God wants us to stay humble, no matter how much He blesses us.
Never Forget Where God Brought You From
One thing that helps keep people humble is remembering:
👉 Where did they come from?
Remember:
- The prayers you prayed
- The struggles you survived
- The times God made a way
- The moments you had nothing
Because when you remember those seasons…
It becomes easier to stay grateful.
Some People Want the Blessing More Than the Blesser
This is something important to think about.
Sometimes people become so focused on:
👉 The blessing…
That they slowly stop focusing on:
👉 God.
They prayed hard before the blessing came.
But once things improve:
- They stop praying like before
- They stop seeking God like before
- They stop depending on Him
And that’s dangerous.
Because blessings should draw us:
👉 Closer to God.
Not further away from Him.
God Does Not Bless Us to Make Others Feel Small
This is important too.
Some people use blessings to:
- Show off
- Compete with others
- Make people feel inferior
But that is not God’s heart.
God blesses us so we can:
- Be thankful
- Help others
- Give Him glory
- Remain faithful
Not so we can act better than everybody else.
Not Everybody Will Celebrate You
This is something I had to learn too.
When God starts blessing your life:
👉 Not everybody will be happy for you.
Some people will:
- Pretend to support you
- Secretly envy you
- Speak negatively behind your back
And honestly…
That’s why I only share certain things with people I know truly care about me.
Because not everybody claps for you genuinely.
Stay Careful of Pride
Pride can enter quietly.
Sometimes people don’t even realize:
👉 Their heart is changing.
Pride can sound like:
- “I don’t need anybody.”
- “I did this all myself.”
- “I’m better than others.”
But humility remembers:
👉 Without God, none of this would be possible.
How to Stay Humble When God Blesses You
Let’s make this practical.
Because staying humble requires intentional effort.
1. Always Give God Credit
Never forget:
👉 God is the reason.
Your blessing did not happen by accident.
Give Him:
- Honor
- Praise
- Gratitude
Because He made the way.
2. Stay Thankful for Small Things Too
Humility grows through gratitude.
Not just for:
- Big blessings
- Breakthroughs
But also for:
- Peace
- Daily provision
- Another day
- God’s protection
Small blessings matter too.
3. Don’t Look Down on Others
Just because God blesses you in one season…
Does not mean someone else’s season will not come later.
Everybody’s journey is different.
Remain kind.
Remain compassionate.
Remain humble.
4. Continue Seeking God
Don’t only seek God when life is difficult.
Seek Him:
- During blessings
- During growth
- During success
Because you still need Him.
5. Use Your Blessings Wisely
Sometimes God blesses people so they can:
- Help others
- Encourage others
- Be a blessing to someone else
Blessings are not only for showing off.
They also come with responsibility.
Jesus Is the Greatest Example of Humility
This is what makes humility so important.
Even Jesus remained humble.
📖 Philippians 2:5-8 (KJV)
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus…”
Jesus had power, authority, and greatness…
Yet He still walked humbly.
That teaches us a lot.
Humility Protects Your Heart
This is something I truly believe.
Humility protects people from:
- Pride
- Arrogance
- Forgetting God
Because humble people remember:
👉 Everything they have is because of God’s grace.
What I Learned About Blessings
I learned:
- Blessings should increase gratitude
- Not everybody will celebrate you
- Pride can quietly destroy peace
- God deserves the glory for every open door
And I also learned:
👉 Staying humble keeps your heart in the right place.
God Can Bless You Without You Becoming Prideful
You do not have to:
- Hide your happiness
- Feel guilty for being blessed
- Downplay what God is doing
It’s okay to celebrate.
Just remember:
👉 Stay humble while doing it.
Because blessings look even better on people who remain grateful and grounded.
Final Thought: Let Blessings Draw You Closer to God
So if God has been blessing your life lately…
Be thankful.
Celebrate.
Smile.
Enjoy what God is doing.
But never forget:
👉 Who made the way?
Stay humble.
Stay grateful.
Stay grounded.
Because blessings should never change your heart for the worse.
Instead…
They should make you love and appreciate God even more.

Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for every blessing, opportunity, and open door You have placed in my life. Help me to remain humble, grateful, and grounded no matter how much You bless me. Keep pride far from my heart and remind me that everything I have comes from You.
Teach me to use my blessings wisely and to continue seeking You during every season of my life. Help me always to give You the glory and never forget where You brought me from.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Ty 🤍

I love this one sis, really great points! We were just reading to the kids how Israel’s kings forgot what God has done for them when they were blessed. It’s so easy to get complacent when things are going well.
