When Life Feels Like It’s Falling Apart
There are moments in life where everything feels like it’s happening all at once.
Things don’t go as planned.
Situations don’t make sense.
People change.
Doors close.
And before you know it, you’re sitting there thinking:
“God… what is going on?”
You believe in Him.
You know He’s real.
But in that moment…
It feels like everything is out of control.
What Does It Really Mean to Trust God?
A lot of people say:
“I trust God.”
But what does that actually look like?
Trusting God means:
👉 Believing He knows what He’s doing — even when you don’t
👉 Letting go of control — even when it’s hard
👉 Choosing faith over fear — even when things don’t make sense
It’s not just words.
It’s a decision you make, especially in hard moments.
Why It’s Hard to Trust God When Life Feels Out of Control
Trusting God sounds good…
Until life gets uncomfortable.
1. We Want to Be in Control
We like to:
- Plan everything
- Understand everything
- Know what’s coming next
So when life doesn’t go our way…
We feel lost.
But here’s the truth:
Control is an illusion.
You were never meant to control everything.
2. We Don’t Understand What God Is Doing
Sometimes God allows things we don’t understand.
And that can make you question:
- “Why is this happening?”
- “Why now?”
- “Why me?”
But just because you don’t understand…
Doesn’t mean God isn’t working.
3. Fear Starts to Take Over
When things feel uncertain, fear gets loud.
You start thinking:
- “What if this doesn’t work out?”
- “What if things get worse?”
- “What if I can’t handle this?”
And fear will try to replace your trust.
What the Bible Says About Trusting God
📖 Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
This scripture breaks it down clearly:
- Trust God with all your heart
- Stop relying on your own understanding
- Acknowledge Him in everything
👉 And He will direct you
Not might.
He will.
How to Trust God When Life Feels Out of Control
Let’s get into real, practical steps you can apply right now.
1. Accept That You Can’t Control Everything
This is the first step.
You have to let go of the idea that you can fix everything.
Because trying to control everything will:
- Exhaust you
- Stress you
- Leave you feeling overwhelmed
📖 Ecclesiastes 3:1 (KJV)
“To every thing there is a season…”
👉 Some things are out of your hands — and that’s okay.
2. Shift Your Focus from Problems to God
When life feels out of control, your mind focuses on everything going wrong.
But trust grows when your focus changes.
Instead of thinking:
“What if this falls apart?”
Start saying:
“God is still in control.”
📖 Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee…”
👉 Peace comes from where your mind stays.
3. Pray Honestly — Not Perfectly
You don’t have to be perfect with words.
Just be real.
Say:
- “God, I’m overwhelmed.”
- “I don’t understand this.”
- “I need your help.”
God isn’t looking for perfection.
He’s looking for honesty.
4. Remember What God Has Already Brought You Through
Sometimes we forget.
We forget:
- The times God made a way
- The times He showed up
- The times He protected us
But remembering builds trust.
📖 Psalm 77:11 (KJV)
“I will remember the works of the Lord…”
👉 If He did it before…
He can do it again.
5. Stop Letting Fear Lead You
Fear will always tell you:
- “You’re not going to make it.”
- “This is too much.”
- “You can’t handle this.”
But fear is not your guide.
📖 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear…”
👉 Fear doesn’t come from God
👉 Trust does
6. Take One Step at a Time
You don’t have to figure everything out today.
Sometimes trusting God looks like:
👉 Taking one step
👉 One day at a time
👉 One prayer at a time
And that’s enough.
God Is Still in Control — Even When It Doesn’t Feel Like It
Let me remind you of something important.
Just because life feels out of control…
Does not mean God is out of control.
He still:
- Sees everything
- Knows everything
- Has a plan
Even when you don’t understand it.
When You Truly Trust God, You Find Peace
Trust doesn’t remove problems.
But it changes how you respond to them.
When you trust God:
- You worry less
- You stress less
- You rest more
Because you know:
👉 “God has this.”
Final Thought: Let Go and Let God Lead
If you’re in a season where everything feels uncertain…
Let this be your reminder:
You don’t have to carry everything.
You don’t have to figure everything out.
You don’t have to control everything.
You have to trust God.
Even when it’s hard.
Even when it doesn’t make sense.
Even when you feel overwhelmed.
Because at the end of the day:
God is still in control.

Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for being in control even when my life feels out of control. Help me to trust You with all my heart and not lean on my own understanding. When I feel overwhelmed, remind me that You are still working, even when I don’t see it.
Take away my fear and replace it with peace. Teach me to surrender everything to You and to walk by faith, not by sight. Help me to trust You one day at a time.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Ty
Encouraged by Faith

I know God is still in control, even when it doesn’t feel like it. Even in moments when things seem confusing or out of place, I remind myself that He sees what I can’t. He already knows how everything is going to turn out, and that gives me peace. I might not understand it right now, but I trust that He’s working things out for me in ways I don’t see yet.
