I can honestly say I’ve had difficult seasons in my life—and no, they were not easy. At the time, I didn’t understand what God was doing. I tried to figure things out on my own, but I wasn’t getting anywhere. I asked questions, searched for answers, and felt stuck. What I’ve learned, though, is that difficult seasons are often where God does His greatest work in us.
One of the biggest examples for me is starting this blog. I wanted to start this website two years ago, but God didn’t allow it to happen then. At the time, that was hard for me to accept. I didn’t understand why I had to wait. I felt ready—but God knew I wasn’t. That waiting period became one of my difficult seasons, and I had to walk through it.
When God Says “Not Yet”
Waiting is not easy, especially when you feel like God has placed something on your heart. I wanted to move forward, but God wanted me to pause. Looking back now, I understand why. He was preparing me for what was ahead. He wanted to make sure I was truly ready—not just excited, but spiritually prepared.
During that time, God was working on my heart, my mindset, and my faith. He wanted me to trust Him fully and allow Him to guide every step of the way. I had to learn how to focus on His Word and not my own understanding.
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
— Proverbs 3:5 (KJV)
Preparation Happens in the Process
What felt like delay was actually preparation. God needed me to get my mind right and my heart aligned with Him. He was teaching me patience, obedience, and trust. If I had started this blog when I wanted to, I wouldn’t have been ready for what came with it.
Even now, I’m still growing and learning. I’m still going through things, but I give God all the glory because He helped make this happen. I may not have liked waiting, but it was worth it. God knew exactly what He was doing.
Growth Happens in Difficult Seasons
Difficult seasons are never easy, but they are often where the most growth happens. When life feels heavy and uncertain, God is working beneath the surface. He is strengthening your faith, shaping your character, and teaching you to trust Him more deeply.
We don’t always understand the season we’re in, but God does. What feels painful now may be preparing you for something greater later.
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God.”
— Romans 8:28 (KJV)
This scripture reminds me that even the hard moments have purpose. God doesn’t waste seasons. Every delay, every challenge, and every moment of waiting is doing something in us.
Learning to Be Patient and Trust God
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is patience. Patience doesn’t mean doing nothing—it means trusting God while you wait. It means believing that He will see you through, even when you don’t see the full picture.
I’m learning to trust God day by day. I’m learning that growth doesn’t happen overnight. It happens through obedience, surrender, and faith. God knows the timing, and His timing is always right.
Just the other day, my cousin—whom I also call my brother—said something to me that I really needed to hear. He simply said, “Keep growing and going.”
That short statement stayed with me. It was exactly what I needed in that moment. With God’s help, that’s exactly what I plan to do—keep growing and going.
I want to encourage you to do the same. Whatever season you’re in or whatever you’re trying to accomplish, don’t give up. Keep growing and keep going. God is with you every step of the way.
If You’re in a Difficult Season Right Now
If you’re currently in a difficult season, I want to encourage you. You’re not being overlooked—you’re being prepared. God sees you, and He knows exactly where you are. What you’re going through is not in vain.
Hold on. Keep trusting. Keep believing. God is working even when you don’t understand.
Reflection Questions
- What difficult season are you currently in?
- How might God be growing you through it?
- What is God teaching you to trust Him with?
Closing Prayer
Lord,
Help me trust You in difficult seasons. Strengthen my faith when I feel weak, and remind me that You are working even when I don’t understand. Help me grow through what I’m facing and trust Your timing and Your plan. In Jesus’ name, Amen
Ty
Encouraged by Faith 🤍

One of the hardest things in life is patience. We are an instant gratification people. Faith is easy when things are going well. BUT we have to have faith during the difficult times also. Trust that GOD is still working even if we never SEE or UNDERSTAND what is happening. Thank you for your encouraging words sis.
