The pin encourages believers to surrender every area of their lives to God and allow Him to transform their hearts, minds, attitudes, and actions through faith and spiritual growth.

Meta Description

Spiritual growth is not about God working on only part of our lives. Learn why surrendering every area of your heart, mind, habits, and struggles to God allows Him to transform you from the inside out.

Lord, Work on All of Me

One prayer I have found myself praying is this:

“Lord, work on all of me.”

Not part of me.

Not half of me.

Not only the areas that are easy to change.

All of me.

Because if I am being honest, I know there are some areas of my life where I have grown.

There are some things God has helped me overcome.

There are some lessons I have learned.

There are some habits I have changed.

There are some areas where I have matured.

And I thank God for that.

But if I am being completely honest, I also know there are still things that need work.

There are still attitudes that need improvement.

There are still thoughts that need to be surrendered.

There are still habits that need to be corrected.

There are still areas where I need God to help me grow.

And I do not think I am alone.

I think all of us have something that God is still working on.

That is why my prayer is not, “Lord, work on some of me.”

My prayer is:

“Lord, work on all of me.”

None of Us Have Arrived

One mistake people sometimes make is believing they have arrived spiritually.

They think there is nothing else they need to work on.

Nothing else needs to change.

Nothing else they need to improve.

But the truth is that all of us are still growing.

All of us are still learning.

All of us are still being shaped by God.

As long as we are living, there will be areas where we can improve.

There will be areas where we need God’s help.

There will be areas where we need His correction.

There will be areas where we need His guidance.

Growth is a lifelong process.

And I am thankful that God does not give up on us while we are growing.

Some Things Cannot Be Fixed Without God

One thing I have learned is that there are some things we cannot fix on our own.

We can make promises.

We can set goals.

We can try harder.

We can tell ourselves we are going to change.

But some battles require God’s help.

Some strongholds require God’s help.

There are some habits that require God’s help.

Some wounds require God’s help.

That is why surrender is so important.

Because when we finally admit we cannot do it alone, we make room for God to do what only He can do.

We All Have Something That Needs Work

If we are honest, every one of us has something that needs work.

For some people, it may be anger.

For others, it may be pride.

For others, it may be jealousy.

For some, it may be stealing.

For some, it may be drugs.

For some, it may be alcohol.

For some, it may be cheating.

For some, it may be overeating.

For some, it may be gossip.

For some, it may be negative thinking.

For some, it may be mental health struggles.

For some, it may be being a busybody and always being involved in things that do not concern them.

For others, it may be sexual sin and fornication.

The list could go on and on.

The point is not which struggle is bigger.

The point is that we all have something.

And the good news is that God is able to work on all of it.

Nothing is too difficult for Him.

Nothing is too broken for Him.

Nothing is beyond His ability to heal, restore, and transform.

God Wants All of Us

One thing I love about God is that He does not just want part of our lives.

He wants all of us.

Our hearts.

Our minds.

Our attitudes.

Our habits.

Our relationships.

Our thoughts.

Our decisions.

Everything.

Sometimes we want God to work on one area while leaving another area alone.

We say:

“Lord, help me with this, but do not touch that.”

“Lord, change this part of my life, but leave that part alone.”

But God is interested in complete transformation.

He wants to make us whole.

He wants to work in every area of our lives.

The Areas Nobody Sees

One thing I have learned is that sometimes the biggest struggles are the ones nobody sees.

People see our smile.

People see us going to church.

People see us showing up.

People see us helping others.

But they do not always see what is happening internally.

They do not see the private battles.

They do not see the thoughts we struggle with.

They do not see the temptations.

They do not see the fears.

They do not see the insecurities.

But God sees all of it.

And He loves us enough to work on those hidden areas, too.

πŸ“– Psalm 139:23-24 (KJV)

“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:”

That takes courage.

Because when we ask God to search us, He may reveal things we did not want to see.

But He reveals them so He can heal them.

Sometimes God Works Through the Process

One thing I have noticed is that God does not always change us overnight.

Sometimes He does.

But growth is often a process.

A day-by-day process.

A prayer-by-prayer process.

A lesson-by-lesson process.

Sometimes we want instant change.

We want God to remove every struggle immediately.

But often He uses the process to teach us.

He teaches us patience.

He teaches us humility.

He teaches us dependence on Him.

He teaches us faith.

That process may not always be comfortable.

But it is necessary.

Let’s Make This Practical

If you truly want God to work on all of you, here are a few practical things to remember.

1. Be Honest With God

God already knows your struggles.

Be honest about them.

Stop pretending.

Bring them to Him.

2. Stop Making Excuses

Growth begins when we take responsibility.

Excuses keep us stuck.

Honesty helps us move forward.

3. Stay in God’s Word

Scripture reveals areas where we need growth.

It also provides the guidance we need to change.

4. Pray Consistently

Transformation does not happen by accident.

Keep bringing your struggles before God.

5. Be Patient With the Process

God is still working.

Do not quit because change is taking longer than you expected.

God Loves You Enough to Correct You

One thing that encourages me is knowing that God’s correction is a sign of His love.

If God did not care about us, He would leave us exactly as we are.

But because He loves us, He corrects us.

He guides us.

He convicts us.

He challenges us to grow.

πŸ“– Hebrews 12:6 (KJV)

“For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth…”

Correction is not punishment.

Correction is proof that God is invested in our growth.

Don’t Just Ask God to Bless You

I think sometimes we spend a lot of time asking God to bless us.

And there is nothing wrong with asking for blessings.

But maybe we should also spend more time asking Him to change us.

Instead of only saying:

“Lord, bless me.”

Maybe we should also say:

“Lord, work on me.”

“Lord, correct me.”

“Lord, strengthen me.”

“Lord, remove what does not belong.”

“Lord, help me become the person You created me to be.”

Because the greatest blessing may not be what God gives us.

The greatest blessing may be who God is helping us become.

God Is Still Working on Me

One thing I can say with confidence is this:

God is still working on me.

I do not have everything figured out.

I do not get everything right.

I am still learning.

I am still growing.

I am still trusting Him.

And I am thankful that He has not given up on me.

Every day He is teaching me something.

Every day He is helping me become better.

Every day He is showing me areas where I need Him more.

And honestly, I am grateful for that.

Because I know I cannot become who God wants me to be without His help.

Final Thought: Don’t Leave Any Area Untouched

If there is one thing I hope people take away from this, it is this:

Do not ask God to work on only part of you.

Ask Him to work on all of you.

The good parts.

The broken parts.

The hidden parts.

The painful parts.

The struggling parts.

The areas you are proud of.

And the areas you are embarrassed by.

Give it all to Him.

Because He is the only one who can truly transform us from the inside out.

I know there are still things in me that need work.

And I am okay admitting that.

Because growth starts with honesty.

So my prayer is simple:

Lord, work on all of me.

Not half of me.

Not part of me.

All of me.

And I pray that He does the same for each of us.

Reflection Questions

  • What area of my life am I asking God to work on right now?
  • Am I being completely honest with God about my struggles?
  • Are there habits or behaviors I have been making excuses for?
  • What areas of my life have I not fully surrendered to God?
  • Am I trusting God’s process even when change feels slow?

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for loving me enough to continue working on me. I know there are areas in my life that still need growth, healing, and transformation. Help me not to hide those areas from You, but to surrender them completely.

Search my heart and reveal anything that does not align with Your will. Work on my thoughts, my attitudes, my habits, my words, and my actions. Remove anything that is keeping me from becoming who You have called me to be.

Give me patience with the process and help me trust that You are still working in me each day. Thank You for never giving up on me and for continuing to shape me into the person You created me to be.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

With Love,

  1. Lord, work on all of me- not just the parts that are easy to change. Search my heart and reveal the areas I try to hide, ignore, or hold onto. Shape my thoughts, my attitude, my words, my habits, and my motives. Help me surrender the things that keep me from becoming who You created me to be. I don’t want the surface-level change; I want true transformation. Correct me where I need correction, strengthen me where I am weak, and heal the places that are broken. Teach me to trust You with every part of my life, even when growth is uncomfortable. Lord, make me more like You in every area of my life. Work on all of me.
